11 Songs You Need To Hear This Week: Ariana Grande, Troye Sivan, GoldLink And More

Written By Sam Murphy on 06/15/2018

Soon it will be a pre-requisite for this list to feature Ariana Grande. Until then, here's a list of the best songs with two Grande features.

11. Sigrid - Focus (Demo)

Sigrid continues to unveil her Raw EP bit by bit and this is the latest drop from it. As the demo tag would suggest, it's a stripped back moment allowing us to really here Sigrid's commanding voice. There's still one more track to drop from the EP.

10. King Princess - Upper West Side

King Princess has dropped an incredibly self-assured debut EP today Make My Bed and this gem sits right in the middle of it. It's an astute look at upper-class New York wrapped in a tight pop track.

9. Jay Rock - Redemption (Feat. SZA)

Jay Rock's long-awaited Redemption record is out today and label mate SZA pops up on the title track. Lyrically it's the most autobiographical track on the record and it's elevated by the heavenly SZA hook.

8. Cosmo's Midnight - Talk To Me (Feat. Tove Styrke)

Cosmo's Midnight's debut album What Comes Next is out today and one of our favourite Swedes Tove Styrke pops up on it. Talk To Me is the most pop-centric cut, sliding along with a breezy beat and a charismatic Styrke vocal.

7. Nina Las Vegas - Lucky Girl (Feat. Swick)

Nina Las Vegas' first release of the year is here and it may be her most daring to date. Lucky Girl is an experimental, electronic ballad that finds delicacy and fragility in the poignant use of auto-tune. It's a surprising turn for the club Queen but a side that proves very rewarding.

6. Nicki Minaj - Bed (Feat. Ariana Grande)

One of the best partnerships in music Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande have dropped the first of two promised collabs. This one will sit on Minaj's album and as such she takes verse duty while Grande nails the seductive hook.

5. Eilish Gilligan - Pattern

Eilish Gilligan and Japanese Wallpaper's magical partnership continues with Patterns, Gilligan's most triumphant moment yet. Bursting with emotion, this is a track that sets its sights on building a huge chorus and succeeds. Huge Melodrama vibes on this which is a very, very good thing.

4. Christina Aguilera - Deserve

Christina Aguilera's album Liberation is here and the whole thing is great but this track really stands out. It's written by Julia Michaels and produced by MNEK, served with a dose of Aguilera's heartiest vocals. A powerful moment.

3. GoldLink - Got Friends (Feat. Miguel)

We're not sure how GoldLink and Miguel have never collaborated before but they've finally teamed up for Got Friends and it's perfect. Miguel delivers a slinky hook while GoldLink gives us funk-driven bars that sound like he's reaching ever so slightly more towards the mainstream. There's nothing wrong with that either. It's about time GoldLink had his big moment.

2. Troye Sivan - Dance To This (Feat. Ariana Grande)

Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande have released their much-anticipated collab Dance To This and it doesn't disappoint. It's too early to say but it definitely has legs to be an Into You moment with both Sivan and Grande delivering pop greatness. Both of their voices meld perfectly and the spoken word bit towards the end is instantly classic.

1. Nao - In Another Lifetime

Nao is back with her first new song of the year Another Lifetime. It's a big moment for here and she stretches herself vocally over a elongated, slow moving beat. Before that though, she opens the song acapella and absolutely smashes it into, well, another lifetime.
