10 Songs You Need To Hear This Week: Chance The Rapper, Kimbra, Beyoncé And More

Written By Sam Murphy on 09/29/2017

A very mixed bag to be completely honest.

10. PARTYNEXTDOOR- Damage (Feat. Halsey)

PARTYNEXTDOOR dropped a surprise EP 7 Days today and it features a song with his tour bud Halsey. It's a dance song with a four-to-the-floor beat that plucks the pair of them into a different world sonically. It also doesn't sound like anything else on the EP in case you were wondering.

9. Kyle - Sunshine (Feat. Miguel)

It was only a matter of time before R&B's newbie Kyle matched up with one of R&B's top voices Miguel and here they are together on Sunshine. As the title would suggest, it's a sunny tune that glides across shiny synths and a funk-driven beat. It's one of three tracks that Kyle delivered today also teaming up with MadeInTYO and Ty Dolla $ign.

8. P!NK - Beautiful Trauma

P!NK latest single is the title track off her forthcoming album and it's been produced by Jack Antonoff. You can tell that because it sounds like a Bleachers song with a bit more kick and honestly it may be one of the best singles she's released in a long time.

7. Little Dragon - Piece Of Mind (Feat. Faith Evans)

This is not a collab we were expecting to see at all but low and behold Swedish band Little Dragon have teamed up with R&B's first lady Faith Evans. It definitely sees Evans step into Little Dragon's quirky world but her soulful vocals are actually a perfect match for this song.

6. Beyoncé, J.Balvin, Willy Williams - Mi Gente

Beyoncé has done a Bieber and jumped on a remix of massive Spanish hit J. Balvin & Willy Williams' Mi Gentre. The remix is in support of all Puerto Rico, Mexico and all the Caribbean islands that have been affected by recent hurricanes. Bey wrote on Instagram that all the proceeds will be donated to hurricane charities. It's the first things we've heard from Bey since she jumped on DJ Khaled's Shining earlier this year.

5. Jack Grace - BE4UGO

Jack Grace is back with his first single of the year and it's a haunting, intricate track. BE4UGO places Grace in the same world as some of James Blake's more experimental work, carefully balancing the line between minimalism and maximalism. It's gorgeous. More of this please.

4. Nilüfer Yanya - Baby Luv

London newbie Nilüfer Yanya has released a string of songs over the past year but it feels like she's really hit the nail on the head with her latest Baby Luv. Accompanied by a very tight set of instruments, she carves out this hypnotic, addictive melody that'll take you a few listens to truly fall in love with. Her voice is gentle and sweet but it's got a potency to it that reveals itself as the song goes on and beefs up.

3. Kimbra - Everybody Knows

Our Kiwi Queen Kimbra is back and she's delivered an A+ moment for the first single Everybody Knows. Everybody Knows is a slow-moving, elongated cut that showcases Kimbra's voice in all its slinky glory. It also takes a bit more of an electronic route to her last record The Golden Echo but it sounds like a natural progression.

2. Chance The Rapper - First World Problems

Chance The Rapper has debuted a new track on Stephen Colber's 'The Late Show' and it's one of his most autobiographical, honest cuts yet. It basically touches on everything that's been going on for Chance recently talking about his relationship with his daughter, god and the world as a whole. It was written two days before this performance. As per usual, it's lyrically faultless, delivered with Chance's unwavering flow. It also features the vocal work of Daniel Caesar.

1. E^ST - Life Goes On

E^ST is back with her first single of 2017 and it's a pretty big moment for her. It's called Life Goes On and it's basically about getting over a relationship and being open to a new experience which is all translated in one helluva chorus. It all unfolds under a dancehall-inspired beat that escalates into something euphoric and glorious.
