Agnes' 'Magic Still Exists' Is One Of The Strongest Disco Revival Records Out There

Swedish popstar Agnes has surprised with one of the year's best pop albums Magic Still Exists.

For casual fans, you may remember Agnes had a global hit back in 2009 with Release Me. Since then, she's steadily released music but she's really stepped it up over the past year or so with a string of strong disco records.

It's all led towards Magic Still Exists, a powerhouse re-entrance that continues the disco trend that's been reigning supreme lately. The LP is as sleek as Jessie Ware's What's Your Pleasure, as playful as Kylie's Disco and as gutsy as Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia.

There's an array of influences across it too from ABBA on Here Comes The Night to Daft Punk on XX. Mostly though, it's Agnes who shines through with huge vocals and a commitment to pop songs that don't stop themselves from going too big.

It's rude to make a disco record bigger than ABBA in the year of their return but she may have just done it.
