Tame Impala’s ‘It Might Be Time’ Stomps All Over Itself In The Best Way

Tame Impala are back with a new song It Might Be Time. It’s their third of the the year but it comes alongside the announcement of their fourth album The Slow Rush, out 14 February 2020.

While the two tracks that preceded this took a disco turn, this one brings back distorted, heavy drums – the kind that graced Elephant.

The drums definitely give the song its biggest kick but beneath it lies this hazy, melodic instrumental that’s dance-ready at times and alarming at others.

It’s Kevin Parker’s most aggressive song in a long time and yet there are still elements of accessibility in his falsetto vocals and strong hook.

An exciting return even moreso than Borderline and Patience.
