Las Vegas artist Shamir ain't going for bubblegum pop with his next record Revelations, he's digging deep into the truth.
His latest drop from the record is Straight Boy, a stirring guitar driven cut that asks, "Can someone tell me why, I always seem to let these straight boys ruin my life?"
He further spoke about it to NPR saying, "It's about how frustrating it was for me to have my whole identity picked apart at a young age, just to see straight white men use it as an aesthetic choice."
It's a really eloquent, honest and brave drop and one that gives us far better insight into the mind of Shamir than anything he's ever done before.
It feels like this time around he's not copping any bullshit.
