What to cop from this week's New Music Friday.

SZA - Doves In The Wind (Feat. Kendrick Lamar)

SZA's album CTRL is out and it features a collab with Kendrick Lamar Doves In The Wind. It's the second time Lamar has jumped on an SZA track after he appeared on Babylon. This one sounds like it would've been right at home on DAMN. with a slow-moving, soulful beat that the pair basically use to show how good they are with wordplay.

Vince Staples - Rain Come Down

Vince Staples heads for the club on his latest drop, channelling Life Of Pablo Kanye for one of his most intriguing releases to date. Ty Dolla $ign adds the soul but it's Staples' verses that bring this one home.

Lorde - Sober

We're a week of Melodrama and Lorde's decided to give us another track from the record Sober. Lorde's already performed the track live before but it's here in all its studio glory now and it sounds phenomenal. It's another dark tune centres around the highs and lows of a party ending with the questions, "what will we do when we're sober?"

Jhene Aiko - While We're Young

Jhene Aiko is back laying down those slippery, silky vocals on her latest cut While We're Young. No word yet on whether this will be on an upcoming record but it's a welcome return. It's a contemporary R&B cut that she slides through with ease.

Ibeyi - Away Away

Globe-trotting, Lemonade-featuring duo Ibeyi have returned with a new slice of music Away Away. The track combines contemporary R&B with textured world flavoured and is driven by their beautifully raw vocals. As per usual, their harmonies are stunning and give the song its understated power.

Khalid - Young, Dumb & Broke (Feat. Rae Sremmurd & Lil Yachty)

Khalid has had some fire remixes of late recruiting Lil Wayne, Kehlani, GoldLink and more to add bits and pieces to songs from his debut album Location. This time around he's tapped Lil Yachty and Rae Sremmurd for a remix of album highlight Young, Dumb & Broke.

RAY BLK - Doing Me

RAY BLK went into 2017 as one of the most promising new acts. She won the BBC Sound Of 2017 and was also named in our Future Class Of 2017. She's been relatively quiet though on the release front this year, until now.Doing Me is her first single of the year and it's a confident anthem that's basically about letting her do whatever she damn well feels like.

Vic Mensa - Rage

Vic Mensa dropped an EP today The Manuscript ahead of an album release later in the year and Rage is the final track on it. We've been craving Mensa's singing ever since Kanye's Wolves and he brings it back here for this powerful, affecting tune.

Jorja Smith - Teenage Fantasy

Fresh from collabs with Drake and Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith is back on her own with a soulful new cut Teenage Fantasy. Smith wrote the song when she was 16 and but it's a mature, sleek soul song that once again showcases those phenomenal vocals.

DJ Khaled - To The Max (Feat. Drake)

Well, the Drake vocals came in and DJ Khaled has rolled out another anthem To The Max. To The Max is the latest single to come from his forthcoming album Grateful and it's got a Jersey club vibe to it, something different to what either of the artists have taken on before.

Golden Vessel - Shoulders (Feat. Elkkle & Mallrat)

Golden Vessel's last release Tell The-Girl was a pretty spectacular release and he's backed it up with this new, brooding tune Shoulders. Elkkle lays his deep voice over the scattering, drum-led beat and Mallrat joins at the end for some super smooth bars.
