The Pulse: Feki, Yeo, Benson & More Round Out Your Week In New Electronic Music

Written By Zanda Wilson on 03/04/2017

THE PULSE is a weekly wrap up by the interns, catching you up on all the must-hear electronic music released over the past week and sound-tracking your weekend house parties.

Feki - Run Away

Keep a close eye on Feki this year, because all signs point to a breakthrough 2017. After a steady stream of singles over the past couple of years, we've recently seen a more mature Feki craft some seriously well-polished production, and this latest cut is no different. Run Away builds softly, and slowly makes its way to an incredible climax. It's easily one of his best to date.

Roland Tings - Garden Piano

Roland Tings' second new single for the year comes in the form of the pulsing instrumental track Garden Piano. This latest track is an rolling mix of intricate rhythms and melodies, proving his diversity following the release of the slow-burning vocal-driven tune Higher Ground earlier this year. Roland Tings has found his groove, and its anyones guess what he'll be able to produce through the rest of 2017.

Benson - Trying (Feat. Yeo)

A talented producer in his own right, Yeo has teamed up with Benson to create one of the best surprise collaborations of the year so far; Trying. The two Melbourne dudes have crafted some gorgeous production underneath Yeo's truly incredible vocals, which seem to be growing in confidence with every track he sings on. Two of the most underrated musicians on the circuit right now have simply bossed this one.

Jess Kent - The Sweet Spot (PON CHO Remix)

This week Jess Kent unveiled a series of remixes for one of her biggest singles from 2016, and one that clearly stands out comes from Blue Mountains producer PON CHO. The man behind the production on Frozen (Ft. Paige IV) has lent his own sensibilities to The Sweet Spot and the result is a glitchy, bass-heavy spin on Kent's sound.

Lido - Crazy (Alison Wonderland Remix)

Last week Lido unleashed a stellar remix of Alison Wonderland's track Messiah and now AW has returned the favour with her own take on Lido's single Crazy from his 2016 album Everything.

Contrary to Lido's understated remix last week, this re-imagining of Crazy is littered with classic Alison Wonderland stylings including her trademark vocal yell, and is a much heavier effort than the original.
