We've become accustomed to punchy, attitude-filled tunes from Las Vegas singer Shamir based off his last two tracks, On The Regular and Call It Off, but this latest one shows a different side. Darker, the third song to be taken from his forthcoming debut album Ratchet, is a sweeping ballad that sees Shamir really opening his lungs and belting. "It doesn't get darker, unless you expect it to," he sings over a dusky instrumental that swells at times with rollicking drums. It comes complete with a video filmed in the Joshua Tree desert by drones.
Shamir's Ratchet is in Australia on 15 May.
