Lorde, Ariana Grande and First Aid Kit- just a few names of ridiculously talented artists under 21. Now we can add to that list 16 year-old Portland-based singer, Grace Mitchell who proves once again that age is merely a number. Like Lorde, she's creating moody yet expertly constructed pop tunes. With fiery red hair and an intent stare, her tunes match her presence with exploding percussion and affecting synths. Broken Over You and Your Design are both mid-tempo numbers yet they escalate into huge chorus' and melody-laden bridges. She sounds far beyond her years, presenting two songs that sit somewhere in between Robyn's glowing alt-pop and Lorde's goth-pop.
